Classic Dutch Apple Pie

For the Pie

  • 1 Pie Crust
  • 5 or 6 Baking Apples Peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar Packed
  • 3 Tbsp Flour
  • 1/2 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/8 Tsp Cloves

For the Topping

  • 3/4 Cup Flour
  • 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup Butter Room temperature


  1. Peel, core and slice 5 baking apples.

  2. Put sliced apple in a large mixing bowl, combine lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Mix until the apples are coated and all the ingredients are mixed well. 

  3. Fill the pie crust with the apple filling.

  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, brown sugar and butter.

  5. Spread evenly over the top of the pie. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. 

  6. Cook at 375 degrees for 50 minutes, until pie is browned and apple filling is bubbling! Enjoy!
