Total Time 1 hour 5 minutes

  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp pure almond extract
  • 1 egg large
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1-2 tbsp milk

For Decoration

  • 4 oz semi-sweet baking chocolate melted
  • 1 tbsp Christmas Sprinkles

  1. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until completely combined and smooth (about 2 minutes).

  2. Add vanilla extract, almond extract and 1 egg. Beat on low-medium speed for about 1 minute, until completely combined.

  3. Add in salt and flour slowly, while mixing on low speed. Continue to mix in flour until completely combined.

  4. Mix in 1-2 tablespoons of milk into the dough, on medium speed. Add in enough milk to soften the dough and make it pipe-able. If you are not piping the dough, 1 tablespoon should be fine. If you are piping the dough, use as much milk as necessary to soften the dough for piping.

  5. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Pipe dough in circles, or place dough in cute shapes on the parchment paper. Chill for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

  6. While cookies are chilling, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  7. Once chilled, bake cookies for 12-15 minutes, until slightly browned at the edges.

For Decoration

  1. Melt semi-sweet baking chocolate in a bowl by microwaving, or melt in a double-boiler over the stovetop.

  2. Dip each cookie halfway into the melted chocolate.

  3. Add sprinkles to the cookies before the chocolate cools. Once cooled, enjoy!
