It’s definitely not the most healthy of recipes, but it is extremely delicious. Serve it with pieces of this simple and delicious no knead beer bread recipe.
Cooking It in a Dutch Oven
I cook and serve this in a cast iron Dutch oven. It gives off that rustic charm look. Any Dutch oven would work though, and the fancy enameled cast iron would also be a great option. If it’s made over the stove ahead of time, it’s easy to pop in the oven and heat up!
Substituting Cheeses
This recipe is great in that you can add different types of cheese. I have added smoked gouda, extra parmesan, gruyere. I think it would even taste good with some swiss. Play around with the recipe and find out what method works for you!
A few Cooking Tips:
- As you are making this delicious appetizer, make sure to heat slowly, to avoid scalding some the bottom of the Dutch oven.
- Stir frequently to make sure that all ingredients are mixed thoroughly.
- Use the best quality products you can find. Remember, with simple ingredients, you have to use quality!
This Spinach Artichoke dip can be prepared the morning off, then warmed up in the cast iron Dutch oven pan in the oven, right before your guests arrive! This delicious dish has become a staple appetizer in my home for holidays and special occasions and I always receive compliments!
