What Ingredients You Will Need
This recipe only requires a few ingredients. You will need:
- lime juice
- fresh raspberries
- sugar
- fresh mint
- soda water
- rum
Making the Raspberry Syrup
For this recipe, instead of adding sugar directly to the drink, I boil the raspberries and the sugar together to create a syrup. Combing the sugar and the raspberry juice really kicks up the flavor. Be sure to strain the syrup after it has been boiled so that you remove the raspberry seeds.
Muddling the Mint
Muddling is the process of crushing the leaves to release the aromatic flavors of the herb, without breaking the leaves a part. Muddling really allows the mint flavors to come alive in the cocktail. Do not break the leaves into tiny pieces as no one wants a chunk of mint leaf in their mouth!

What Kind Of Rum Do I Use?
When making a mojito, the smoothest rum is going to be your best bet. On the cheaper end, Bacardi Silver would work well. If you’re looking at something a bit more expensive, consider 10 Cane Rum. There are many options out there for making mojitos. Just be sure that the rum you choose is light a refreshing.
Creating the Cocktail
Muddling the mint needs to be your first step to putting this great cocktail together. Once muddled, add the raspberry syrup over the top, then the lime and rum. Stir your ingredients to really infuse the mint flavor into the drink.
Once stirred, add ice, then slowly add the club soda to the glass in an effort to prevent bubbles from forming. Lightly stir the club soda into the cocktail. Add a few raspberries and mint leaves as a garnish and enjoy! This refreshing spin on the mojito is sure to be a winner this summer!
