Learn More About Me at The Lavender Homefront
Hello, my name is Elizabeth! I live in Montana in the heart of suburbia with my husband and 4 kids! Life is pretty hectic around here with homeschooling, ballet practice and, of course, all the baby and toddler tasks. However, one of my biggest goals is to create a sustainable lifestyle that will help foster a healthier home for my family.
Sustainable Living and Suburban Homesteading
Suburban life means constantly battling the mentality of keeping up with the Jones’. Consumerism and convenience are running rampant, with little concern on health, or the environment.
In my blog, I truly want to show people that they can make a big different with small changes (see: 50 Easy Ways to Become More Sustainable).
These techniques include: how to garden in small spaces, find amazing products from thrift stores, repurposing furniture, DIY your home improvement projects, cook from scratch and much more!
Living sustainably in the suburbs isn’t impossible, and it can be fun!
How do we become more sustainable?
Living in the suburbs means having access to all of the modern day conveniences. I am not completely willing to give up on all these conveniences and live off the grid.
However, I think it’s important to learn and teach sustainable living techniques and holistic approaches in order to live healthier lives. I also believe that homesteading brings a certain level of pride on a job well done. Lastly, it’s a great way to budget and live a more frugal lifestyle.
I’m a frequent Guest Blogger over at A Modern Homestead, so be sure to check my gardening and DIY posts there too!
